MAC compatibility with MS EXL

I have many spreadsheets created on MS Exl. I am considering changing to a MAC lap top. What software is needed on a MAC to access and manage MS Exl spreadsheets on a thumb drive?

Will MS Office Home 2019 work fully with Big Sur? I am in process of fully converting from pc to Mac 👏🏼😬, have MacBk Pro 2019, & have upgraded from Catalina (orig OS) to Big Sur. My iMac was purchased late 2012 and is running 10.15.7. I'd like to use a spreadsheet like Numbers, but it seems to require OS ver 11. Is there a spreadsheet compatible w/ my current OS? Are there any simple spreadsheets available from Apps store compatible w/ late 2012 iMac running 10.15.7?

I'm not sure what MS Exl spredsheets are but assuming you mean Microsoft Excel spreadsheets:

Microsoft Office versions 2016, 2019, and 365 all work on Macs. Office 2011 is no longer supported by Microsoft. So if my assumption is correct the spreadsheets will work on your Mac.

Alternatively you can open Excel spreadsheets with a third party app like LibreOffice.
