Files Not Showing up in Finder

OK So this is getting a bit annoying. it started from the update to Catalina from Mojave. When Apps create files like saving a Pages Doc, saving a new file/ movie/etc... the file doesn't appear in the saved location in finder. A spotlight search for the filename finds it and holding the command key with the file selected shows that the file is in the folder even though the file does not appear in the folder. holding Command and clicking the found file in spotlight then adds the file to finder. Its like finder is not catching up. also it seems like some files won't just run when they are clicked from the spotlight search.

So far I've tried:

deleting the com.apple.finder.plist and rebooting <--NOPE

Resetting the NVRAM / PRAM <--NOPE

FORCE Quitting Finder from the apple menu and rebooting <--NOPE

Changing the Finder views and sorting to see if the files appear <--NOPE

Using Disk utility to fix any errors in the file system <-- NOPE

To be clear Spotlight search finds them but they don't appear in Finder until they are Command-Clicked in Spotlight so if you forget the filename they are just in the ether. Please help

Have you rebuilt the Spotlight index? https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201716

If that doesn't work, it might be useful to start up in Safe Mode https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262
