Changed my Apple ID but am still asked for the password to my previous Apple ID

I changed my old iPhone with a new Apple ID and used my old Apple ID with a new iPhone, but my old device repeatedly asks for the password to my previous Apple ID. I followed the steps mentioned on the site to temporary change my current Apple ID to the email address that iCloud is asking me to sign in with but it does not accept the old Apple ID as it is used by my new device.

Any support is greatly appreciated.

Check the App Store and iTunes Store to see if there are any updates for apps/purchases. A request for another Apple ID password is often caused by updates to apps/purchases that were made when using the other ID. Those purchases are tied to the other ID and can't be transferred. One option is to delete the apps/purchases made by the other ID and download them using the new ID if desired. If necessary, check your purchases history to see which apps/purchases weren’t made by the current ID.

Or you can try to set up Family Sharing to keep access to your purchases.
