Change Apple ID?

I changed my Apple ID (email address) but my iPhone XS continues to ask for the password to the old Apple ID. How do I correct this?

Update: I had done everything correctly when I changed my Apple ID. The fix was a simple shutdown. When I turned the phone back on everything was as it should be and the old Apple ID was replaced with the new one.

Please explain the specific context in which your problem occurs. Exactly what are you attempting to. do? Activation lock? Trying to update or download apps in the App Store? In the first case post back. In the second case see:

See What to do when the Mac App Store shows a different Apple ID for software updates https://www.macworld.com/article/3267709/mac-app-store-apple-id.html. This document refers to a prior owner, but is also applies to cases where a current owner's old Apple ID is the problem.

Basically, If an app is purchased/downloaded using one Apple ID, then you can't update it with another Apple ID. The app is inextricably linked to the first Apple ID. You'll have to delete it and repurchase/download it again with the second Apple ID.
