Reformatting MacBook Pro late 2012

I am trying to reformat my mac book and have erased the macintosh HD -data volume but when I try to erase the macintosh HD it says it can't as it is in use by process 693(kextcache)

Couldnt unmount disk


what can I do?

To erase the drive you have to boot into the recovery partition or Internet recovery. I suspect you haven't.
