Capitalizing inserts problems

When I’m creating email text, if I realized I need to go back and insert a word into a sentence, Apple automatically capitalizes the first letter of the new inserted word no matter where I insert the word. I have to delete the inserted word, tape the shift key off, and retype the inserted word. Can this problem be fixed?

Auto-capitalisation has been erratic in its behaviour since release of iPadOS 13.4.1 (iPadOS 13.5.1 is current at time of writing) - in particular when attempting to edit text.

At this time, there doesn’t appear to be an available workaround short of disabling Auto-Capitalisation:

Settings > General > Keyboard > Auto-Capitalisation - set to OFF

I suggest that you document any difficulties you experience - and submit feedback to Apple using the appropriate feedback page:
