Only the 2018 (sometimes called 2020) Mac min has USB-C ports, and they are also Thunderbolt 3. There should be a lightning bolt icon next to the ports. The cable should also have lightning bolt icons on its plugs.
Make sure the display end of the cable is plugged into the display's Thunderbolt 3 port (lightning bolt icon), not one of the display's three USB-C only ports (no lightning bolt icons).

Use one of the Thunderbolt 3 ports with the Thunderbolt 3 cable that comes with the monitor.
But the miniMac does not have a thunderbolt output When I use the thunderbolt usb-c cable I have no signal. The screen is black. What usb output should it work with?
So I should use a different cable end for the Mac Mini port since it’s older than the 2018
If the Mac mini is older than 2018 it can't use that display.
