How to reset an iPhone without the Sim card

My granddaughter was given a XR iPhone by her boyfriend. She put her Sim card in that phone. She has an iPhone 8 plus that she wants to give to her father. How can she do a factory reset on her iPhone 8 plus without putting her Sim card back in that phone. I am still paying on the iPhone 8 plus.
