How can I get my JPEG Photos to open without double clicking on each one?

I have a new Mac, and I have photos from my old 2010 iMac backed up on a Flash Drive. I want to add most, but not all of these photos to my new Mac, but not all of them are opening as thumb nails unless I double click on them individually. 2500 photos would be a career for me to open individually.

How can I get them to all open at once so I can select the ones I want?

Any help would be appreciated.

My Mac is:

Catalina 10.15.4

It would be much easier, if you imported all of the photos from your Flash Drive into a Photos Library and use the Browser in the Photos.app to delete the ones that you do not want. The Finder is good for browsing files, but not so good for browsing photos. Even the gallery View will only show you the generic icon as the thumbnail, in the film strip, if the other views are also showing the generic icon.
