If the laptop can power on you can try putting the laptop into Target Disk Mode (the computer doesn't need to boot or even have a working display for this to work, it just needs to power on enough to register the keypress and have a working USB or Thunderbolt port).


Otherwise if your laptop has a removable drive you can remove it and install it into an USB enclosure.
