Catalina Crashes

Have just updated to Catalina 10.15.7 and now the first two programs I’ve used are causing major problems.

1 I’m a photographer and use Nikon ViewNX-i extensively for storage and quick editing. Never had any issues before updating but now my photos crash in mid edit with loss of both edit and more concerning, all the photos in the relevant folder. Using latest Nikon software.

2 I can no longer activate links on Zoom so can no longer join my regular meetings.

Can anyone help please?

For both apps boot into Safe Mode (How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support) by booting with the Shift key held down and check there to see if the problem persists.  Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed
• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party extensions from loading)
• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically
• Disables user-installed fonts
• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files
