Just upgraded to Big Sur and use an external hard drive to store my photos, when I opened the App on my MacBook Pro it is restoring the link albeit it very slowly after rebooting Photos and directing it to the external directory. Now nervously awaiting if this works and I can access the photos. There was no problem in access prior on Catalina so not sure why this has happened. Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Hi - this topic is marked solved. Not many people will come here, so I'd suggest you create your own question. But when you do, please give much more detail - which OS, what happens, what have you tried, how much space do you have on mac and in icloud, where is your library stored etc etc.

I was able to repair my library but now my hard drive won’t open at all. I still cannot access my photos. What should I do next?
