Big Sur Intranet causing the MacBook to freeze and restart

When I connect from my MacBook Pro with Big Sur to a second MacBook Pro with High Sierra the Big Sur MacBook freezes and restarts.

This is most annoying as i cannot copy files through the Network.

I seriously regret installing Big Sur as this is the third issue in 2 days

I am connecting wirelessly from one MacBook with Big Sur to a second MacBook with High Sierra. I use afp://10.0.0.11 - once the connection is established and the shared folders are displayed Big Sur shuts down and restarts. I have also tried using a network cable and the same issue exists.

Basically happens connecting to any computer on my Network - same issue connecting to my iMac and Windows laptop.
