Can i trade in an iphone with a possibly damaged port?

Hi, i have an iphone 8 but it has a hard time charging, sometimes it will charge for like 5 seconds and then stop or 10 minutes and then stop. I took it to my nearest apple store but with covid and everything they didn't have any available times to check it out. They said to just ship it out, but I don't feel like spending a lot of money just to fix an old phone, so I was thinking of getting a 11, but I don't know if I would be able to trade it in because of my port, and I still don't even actually know if it's the port that is the issue, all I know is I need a phone and I don't have a lot of money, so being able to trade it in would be great. It's in good condition, no cracks or anything or any other issues really, just the charging one. Do you think it'll still be eligible for trade in? Thanks.

I'm afraid, even if your device is accepted for the Trade-in program, you won't get much for it, since it has hardware issues.

But, you will get an estimate by answering the questions, before you send it in:

Whether you’re making a purchase or not, we’ve made it easy to trade in an eligible device either in a store or online. Just answer a few questions regarding the brand, model, and condition of your device. We’ll provide an estimated trade-in value or a simple way to recycle it.
