New MacBook Pro and Connections to USB

Just bought a new MacBook Pro. Of course, I am having compatibility issues. Have an external monitor that uses USB ports, even a hub that I plug in USB devices to. New MB Pro doesn't use USB. So what adapters should I use, and is there a suggestion for a port, into which I can plug in USB cables, then in turn plug the port into my MB Pro?

Your new Mac has Thunderbolt 3 ports, which are physically the same as USB-C but carry more data (technically, TB3 = USB4).

For ‘regular USB’ ie USB-A plugs, you just need an adapter like this one:

3rd party ones work fine, I use little dongles from Nonda bought on Amazon.
