iMac 27 with Mac mini

I have a defunct iMac27 {graphics card died) I love the big screen... since I need a screen with a Mac Mini can I rig it up to the iMac27 and use that as the screen.

iMac 27″, macOS 10.13

No. Target Display Mode was implemented in software with specific hardware requirements.

If the graphics card is dead, there's no way to use it as a display, even if you had a machine running hardware and software that was compatible with TDM.

Thanks for the replies.

I've been trying to replace the graphics card but only find reconditioned units. One lasted 3 months then failed (it's being replaced).

Is it a case that the Imac27 g-card would take the working load even if it's used as a display or would that working load be taken by the g-card in the mac mini... or would both machines' g-cards work independently.

Hope that makes sense (I'm not a techie)
