What adapter do I need to connect iphone SE to Macbook M1

I'm not even clear on the connector type on my iPhone. Just USB, or USB something? I need an adapter to connect two older devices at a time to my new MacBook M1, such as a camera, iPhone, and G-Drive. I really use my laptop in my lap, so an adapter has to be lightweight and small. But, as a starting point, I need to know the names of the old phone cable and the new laptop port. The 10,000 articles I've read just seem to lead me in circles.

To connect the iPhone SE you need a lightning to USB-C adaptor. The phone has a lightning port, your new laptop has Thunderbolt 3 ports, which are compatible with USB-C connectors.

For older USB devices, you need a USB-A to USB-C adaptor.
