Replacing an old 13" MacBook Pro

Need a replacement for a very old MacBook. Currently looking at the M1 MacBook Air. It needs to run Logic Pro and Mainstage well. I also use Garage Band and iMovie a lot, but guess they have been optimised for them to run well on M1?

Any thoughts or should I consider the MacBook Pro also with the M1 processor?

The M1 Pro will handle multiple simultaneous audio tracks better than the Air. The chip is the same but the Pro has a fan to cool it and without that the Air will need to throttle back the processors to control heat.
