Updating OS (10.9.5 Mavericks) on a 2010 Macbook pro

Hi

I wasnt able to upgrade my OS while it was offered via software update. And now my software update is not offering any updates for my OS.

What OS should I look for and how do I upgrade from Mavericks?

Thanks

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and depending on which Mac model you have, download El Capitan or High Sierra through the links provided. You may need to wait a few hours or more for the High Sierra one to work.

Hey Niel

Thank You.

Just to be clear, I have a Macbook pro mid 2010, 13inch, Intel chip, 4GB memory, Nvidia Gforce 320M.

So I cant upgrade my Macbook to the current OS (Big Sur)? So what was the last upgrade that my Mac can handle?

High Sierra?

Also, if I notice that my apps wont work I can go back with time capsule option and then maybe look to upgrade to an older OS version, but still newer than my 10.9.5 Mavericks?
