Hi. I would like to connect a late 2014 imac to a new mac mini (big sur both) to use the imac as a monitor. What cables and/or adapters do i need to buy exactly?

You do not need to buy cables because it won't work.

Why....? Because the new Mac Mini can't use your 2014 iMac as a display in Target Display Mode.

If you buy or have a new Mac Mini, then you will need an external display for it.
