Is it possible to fix a macbook which has had water spilled on it? If so, is there an apple approved store in the US that could fix it?
Is it a myth that you should keep it closed for 48 hours?

Water damage is often extensive and ongoing due to corrosion. The computer needs to be examined by an authorized service center. There is not a dedicated "repair store for water damage". Closing the computer for 48 hours does nothing. The computer should not be turned on or used if it has been water damaged.
