How to check iPad bought from someone other than Apple?

When buying iPad from someone other than Apple, and you switch on device and “Set up your iPad” appears on the screen, is it enough check that IPad is not stolen etc.

There is no way to check if the iPad is stolen.


If you see the setup screen and can enter your own

AppleID and passcode to complete the setup, then the

iPad has been properly prepared for re-sale/re-use. Make

sure you complete the setup and not just see the initial screen.


If there is something about the sale that makes you leery of the

iPad and/or seller, walk away. If problems do develop later, you

will be on your own as Apple does not intervene in re-sale/2cd

hand devices.
