IPhone 11 scratches

Does the warranty cover scratches on the iPhone 11 screen? It sounds like this is a defective material since so many are experiencing scratches with minimal use. I’ve never had issues with scratches until this phone. It has only been in a soft pocket or face up on a desktop and there are several gouges making it difficult to read.
