Photos not downloading from iCloud to MacBook Pro

My most recent photos from iCloud are not downloading to my MacBook Pro. They go from the iPhone to iCloud, but they are not getting from there to the MacBook. All accounts are signed in properly. We have started and restarted the phones and computers again and again. Nothing seems to work.

What shall we try next?

You may want to check the status bar in Photos on your Mac. If Photos has started a new upload to iCloud Photos, it will not download new photos into the library, before all photos have been uploaded again and merged into the existing iCloud Photos Library.

What are you seeing below the All Photos view? Is it still uploading? Then just wait for the upload to finish and keep the Mac connected to Wi-Fi and a power source. Do not toggle the iCloud settings off and on, or the upload might start again from the beginning all over and just take longer.

if you are seeing items "On this Mac Only" in the status bar or "unable to upload" you have to deal with them, before iCloud Photos will again sync properly: Check the status of your library in Photos for macOS - Apple Support
