"PDE.plugin" will damage your computer or "HPDM.framework"

I have been using the same printer for years. The last three things I have tried to print, however, will not print. I am currently trying to print a mailing label that has been downloaded, but I continually get a message that the "PDE.plugin" will damage your computer or "HPDM.framework" will damage your computer. What's wrong and how do I correct it?

It sounds like you've been hit with this problem: If your HP printer doesn't work and you see a warning that HP software '...will damage your computer' - Apple Support

You will need to follow the instructions in that document, and in the HP support document that it links to, to uninstall your HP software and install the latest version.
