Pop up says ‘since visiting this website your iPhone has been infected with 26 viruses"

hi there, i was just on my phone and i got a notice pop up that covered the majority of my screen saying ‘since visiting this website your iphone has been infected with 26 viruses, i am now quite worried about my phone and don’t know what to do. is it a scam?
