Cannot print emails

Cannot print emails

Having a problem printing emails. Get a screen that says 'Composing'. Never had that before. Today, one email printed after about 5 minutes (I was working on something else while waiting.) Later tried three times to print and each time Mail locked up - sent a report to Apple each time. Tried on both printers (HP OJ Pro 9015 and Brother HL-L 2320 D). No problem printing to either from Word, Excel, Adobe Reader etc. Running a MacBook Pro 13" M1, with Mac OS 11.4; Mail 14.0 (3654.100.0.2.22). Appreciate any suggestions.

Boot into Safe Mode according to Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

I sometimes get "composing" if the email contains heavy graphics but never an issue with just print and little graphics.

Thanks for your input. Just tried to print another email - no graphics, just text. This time it said 'Preparing' and locked up. Had to do a Forced Quit. Hopefully will get a suggestion soon.

Still having the printing problem with Mail - and only the one reply. Can anyone help????

Great suggestion. Safe mode helped me identify the problem and got it solved. Will remember to try safe mode in the future if I get a puzzling issue.
