Apple magic mouse not scrolling up and down

After system updated to macOS Monterey the Apple magic mouse doesn't scroll up and down.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.0

I have the same issue. When the system goes to sleep, and I start back up, I try using the scroll up and down, and it doesn't work.

If I disconnect it from Bluetooth and then reconnect it will work until the next time it goes to sleep.
