I can't backup my new iphone to itunes! iphone button is greyed out

So as the title says, when I try to connect my iPhone to me pc i can't back it up. I just get a grey phone button and that's it.

how do I fix this?

iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 15

Hi ItayIB,

Please check Your cable, maybe there is a connection problem between iPhone and PC.

Update Your iTunes to newest version.

and follow this steps by Apple:

How to back up your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iTunes on your PC – Apple Support (UK)

Update You PC

Reboot your PC

Update iTunes

Reboot your PC

Force restart your iPhone as stated here: Force restart iPhone – Apple Support (UK)

And try connecting again.

Have tried that, that didn't help. im using an original cable, plus I do see my phone on windows so I guess the problem is with the itunes itself?
