macOS Catalina to Monterey

If for example I'm still in macOS Catalina, do I need to install all the updates I've missed one-by-one before install macOS Monterey? Has anyone installed Monterey without installing the "Another update is available"?

It certainly requires more effort, but there may be an advantage to first upgrading to Big Sur before moving to Monterey. This way you can make sure that your key applications and other functions are working correctly before upgrading to Monterey. Also, should you encounter problems with installing or using Monterey, it may be better to revert to Big Sur than back to Catalina.
