Trading In Laptop At different Store Than Where Purchase Was Made

Hi,

Strange question...my son just purchased online a new Apple laptop and lives in Florida. He would like to trade in his old Apple laptop which is with me in Illinois. Can I take his old Apple laptop to my Apple store with his purchase receipt information and have the trade in credit made to his original credit card? I am trying to avoid having to ship his old laptop to him risking loss or damage in the busy holiday shipping season.

Do go ahead and check, but the terms state that it will either be applied to a replacement purchase or an Apple gift card will be issued. So, I have no idea if you can achieve what you want to do.
