I am looking to buy 2 older model iPads; 4th gen or 4th gen minis off Swappa. My question is:
When buying an unlocked product that does not support the latest IOS - how does downloading new apps work? (Or does it?) Would I be able to download new apps to these older models? I am new at this and don't want to buy 2 bricks

Well written article - I am comfortable with the seller, but am still concerned about being able to add new apps? Am I correct that as long as the model is compatible with the current update, we should be fine downloading new apps on to the device?
An iPad 4 is only capable of running application versions compatible with 10.3.3.
An iPad mini 4 is compatible with 15.1.

Hello ~Yes…you should be fine. I would however avoid a device for the purpose of downloading apps with a device that cannot be updated to a current version of iOS. Good luck.

The same applies to the fourth generation iPad Air, except as noted in an application's description; a few will only work on iPhones.
