iPhone backups

I have two backups on my hard drive for my iPhone XS. Will deleting the old one mean that I can no longer access some files, photos, etc? Basically, what will happen if I delete this older backup? Thank you!

1. No, unless they're only in it.

2. The content of the backup file is deleted. Nothing else will be affected.
