how to modify keynote theme

I would like to make some minor modifications to some of my themes.

How do I do this without adding another theme to the already large list?

Thank you

You want to make minor changes, to themes, one way is to add a new layout to the theme you are using

  • go to: View > Edit Slide Layout
  • right click on a layout in the left side bar and select Duplicate
  • double click the title bar on the new slide layout to select the title, then give it a new name
  • make the changes to the layout as you require
  • save the presentation
  • when you want to use that layout again, open the presentation, add a new slide then select the new layout from the layout list in the Inspector

Repeat the above for each new layout in the presentation.

Hi Gary Scotland,

Much appreciate your reply.

Yes, that's OK when you have just one slide to change but I find myself needing to make minor changes, e.g. typeface sizes, or colours, maybe embolden certain boxes on all the slides layouts. This means making a new theme. fine at first but then I have so many themes that are similar that it's annoying.

I was wondering if there is a way to tweak a theme whenever I need to do so without adding new slides or duplicating the theme.

Cheers,

Alain
