I have a macbook air 2020 with M1 chip. how do I connect it to hdmi port to stream tv with video AND audio? the a2119 multiport adapter provides video but no audio when connected to hdmi cable plugged into tv.
MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.1
never had to look at that with my old imac or macbook, but when I plugged in the cables and tried to stream tv, up popped the choice in sound for tv output. somebody smart should add a note to apple's page discussing output cable choices.
In System Preferences->Sound, have you selected the TV as a sound output?
