Mac OS Monterey upgrade fails - Internet connection is required

Hi,

I've repeatedly tried to upgrade my Mac OS with the latest Monterey version but keep getting a fail message.

I've tried:

  • Disabling anti-virus software (Automatic/Idle scans).
  • Disabling wifi and connecting the laptop to the router with ethernet cable.
  • Installing the update to Catalina but get the same error.

Laptop spec:

  • macOS Catalina 10.15.7
  • MacBook Pro (13 inch 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports)

In the case of installing the Monterey upgrade, the installer always fails with 9 minutes left with the message "An Internet connection is required to install macOS" as shown in the screenshot below.

Error:

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15
