Text message being written becomes scrambled while composing message in Messages

Hello,

While writing messages in Messages, the message that's being written often becomes jumbled (letters switched around, punctuation removed, letters replaced with commas and apostrophes).

This seems to happen once the text message has become a few sentences in length, although it doesn't happen all the time.

I have noticed this issue for the past few years, through the different releases of macOS - currently Monterey 12.2.1.

In the past, I've tried turning the computer off and resetting SMC/PRAM - this is a MacBook Pro 15" 2017

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have a solution? It seems this issue isn't common, as I've searched for information about it and haven't found relevant results.
