Safari 15 on MacBook and iPad

After upgrading, the bookmarks list no longer remains expanded, even though when I Quit Safari the bookmark list is expanded. Please provide some kind of update that restores this functionality. I shouldn't have to expand the bookmark list every time I want to use a bookmark. Thank you.

2 Startup in Safe Mode.
