I have an intel mac (late 2015) that I want to give to my daughter. Can I erase all the data and personal settings and still keep the latest macOS? Or is a complete factory reset to original macOS my only option?
I would like to avoid her having to update the OS.

From that point, it will need to be setup using either her Apple ID if she is an adult or your’s if you will be managing it for your young daughter. Either way it will need to be Updated after the erase and reinstall process.

That's what I thought. I have the document you referenced, but was hoping the macOS could be updated prior to her getting it.
