LaCie Drive not ejected properly

I have a LaCie Mobile Drive 2TB attached to my MacBook Pro M1 via USB-C cable.


I had a Macbook Pro prior to my new purchase in December 2021. There were no error messages until after this date with the new model. I have read of unticking < put hard drives to sleep when possible > This I had done with no change in the situation.


Can anyone help please? Just annoying two/three times a day when I sleep or close down my MacBook.

You can try a different cable, different port, different enclosure, different drive and compare your results.


you can try a —SafeBoot How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support to sort anomalies on the M1



there are some reports with older USB attached drives on these new machines, less so with USBC drives.
