How do I stop my iMac suddenly increasing the text size (e.g. in Word and in Chrome) when I move the cursor faster than really slow?
It becomes a major time waster, having to readjust the text size each time.
I'll be grateful for advice on this.

Check you System Preferences >> Mouse and the setting. Have you enable Smart Zoom ?

I agree with P. Phillips. it sounds as if you've discovered "smart zoom". but if it has been enabled, you might want to consider getting used to how it works. ever since I've starting using it, I've wondered how I used to live without it.
