ethernet question

I have a Macbook Pro - 2012 model. I've only ever used it on Wifi but have applied for a WFH job and the internet is fast, but not stable enough - jittering in the 70s, but needs to come down to 30max. They've suggested hooking it up to ethernet to see if it comes down. Can anyone recommend a product to do this most successfully.

Thanks (from someone who has no idea about tech!)

Hi,

If you have a Mid 2012 15" MBP, you'll need an adapter such as this, Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter - Apple, and an Ethernet cable to go from your router to the adapter, which will be plugged in to the Thunderbolt port on your MBP, then you'll select Thunderbolt Ethernet in System Preferences > Network.
