Cant remove use from Apply TV

I have a previous HomeKit user that is no longer in my home but I cant delete their name from the list of users on my Apple TV / HomeKit. The 'Remove User from Apple TV' is grayed out. The note on the Apple TV users page directs you to the home app on IOS, but the user no longer shows on the Home app for IOS. Any suggestions by anyone? Thanks!

Hello davidwareagle,

Which tvOS version is currently installed on the Apple TV? If the device isn't currently on tvOS 16 yet, you may try updating to that and see if it helps: Update your Apple TV - Apple Support

Update Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD
1. Go to Settings > System > Software Updates and select Update Software.
2. If there's an update, select Download and Install.
3. Wait for your Apple TV to download the update. Don't disconnect or unplug your Apple TV until the update completes.

Similarly, try checking for any updates for iOS as well: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

These steps will ensure each device has the latest fixes/improvements applied.

Is the same Apple ID signed in to both the iOS and tvOS device? If not, that could be a potential reason.

If all else fails, you may try resetting the Apple TV with the steps here: Reset or restore your Apple TV to its factory settings - Apple Support

Reset your Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD
1. Go to Settings > System > Reset.
2. Choose a reset option:
•Reset: This option is the fastest way to return your Apple TV to factory settings. This option doesn't require an Internet connection.
•Reset and Update: This option returns your Apple TV to its factory settings and installs software updates. This option requires an Internet connection.
3. Keep your Apple TV plugged into power until the Reset process finishes.

This does erase the device, though apps may be re-downloaded as desired.

Cheers.
