Cannot erase or format external samsung ssd with monterey 12.5.1
I have previously formatted and cloned an external samsung ssd and now I want to erase the drive and it fails. Why?

Erase and reformat a storage device in Disk Utility on Mac

Side note - the computer will need to started from the Internal Drive to perform this action.
It can not be done if the computer was started from the External Drive that contains Monterey 12.5.1
