I would add that I find participating here a lot of fun. I've met some great people over the years. I think it's well worth the investment of time and effort. I'm certainly proud of the fact that I've helped enough people that I have the points I have but the people are more my motivation than the points.

Most of us are here because they enjoy helping; lots of posters do not award points and we are not allowed to hint or ask for them. There is no financial gain, so it will take a while. Personally, I don't pay attention to it.

It has been my observation that people who are here for points burn out or get frustrated pretty quickly. Once upon a time, someone figured out how often you actually get points for correct answers and it's not often. Of course, sometimes, you get points for saying, "Me, too".

Participate here because you enjoy it. Don't worry too much about the points. Once you get past Level 6, they are really just for display purposes.

Provide quality answers.

There are no shortcuts.

No quick way to the top.

The Level up and get perks points list is in the page called Share what you know and get recognised

I believe it was about 5 years before I attained Level 6 (8000 points). After that, I don’t recall the various times for different levels. No, the points awarded remain the same.
