Payment info looping after inputting security code

When I use the autofill feature for online shopping, I get the security prompt to type in my 3 digit security code (on back of card). I type it in and it then asks me to use my fingerprint or password to authenticate, then just returns me to the unfilled card details. This can keep going in a loop.

Now I have to manually type my card details like a common peasant.

Google Chrome Version 108.0.5359.98

MacOS Ventura 13.1

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 13.1

Going back through the motions shows me it is both a Google Pay issue and MacOS...

Google Pay asks for my CVC for the bank card (3-digit code). I input this, then get a new window "Google Chrome is trying to verify your identity. Touch ID?" which then takes me straight back to empty card details
