Pages Share Feature Removed?!

Previously when you created a document in Pages, then shared it via email, Pages gave you you the option to share as a pages doc, word doc, pdf, etc. Now in the current Pages 12.2.1 you have to export to the file type, save it, then find that saved doc and attach to email. The previous way was much more efficient. Is there a way to go back to the previous version of Pages?...I really REALLY liked that feature.

If you backed up your Mac with Time Machine before upgrading you can restore an older version of Pages. If you haven't backed up you can still email pdfs through the print option: Print > PDF [Send in Mail].

The Pages product team removed not only the Share menu but all traces of the Send a Copy functionality on Ventura that many have depended upon for years. There is a Provide Pages Feedback menu item in the application to voice your request for its return. We are fellow users and can do nothing about this loss of productivity — except adapt.

I wrote some code with technical instructions on how to implement and use it that allows you to choose the export type (e.g. PDF, Word, or RTF), export it, and then automatically attach it to a new email. When done as an Apple Shortcut, it can be a single-click solution.

See PAGES: Where did "share as pdf" go? - Apple Community

I posted a two-part Apple Shortcut solution in that thread and be sure to make the additional changes that I posted later in that thread on Dec 5 that allow you to use it with Pages documents on iCloud Drive.

Several people have posted similar statements regarding changes in the way things like this have been changed wth the current version of Pages (and other applications)

But this is a user-to-user community, and although Apple provides the space, there is only limited participation here by Apple employees (moderators who monitor for adherence to the terms of use; community specialists, who monitor for questions that have had no response within a day or so, and provide a response that usually is a reference to knowledge base documents that may have bearing on the issue), but none by the development teams of the various applications, or be Apple Leadership.

Changes to the software require action from the development team. Use the Provide Numbers Feedback menu item in the Numbers menu to make a feature request, asking for this feature to be returned to its earlier (and more efficient) procedure, then provide the details of how this change would improve the usefulness of the application by users.

Apple does read these requests, and has acted on many. But don't expect a reply—Apple will contact you only if they need further details or clarification of your request.

For some reason, they decided that the 'collaborate' button was more important than the 'share' button. The collaborate requires you store your document on the cloud, which is not ideal in many situations, especially in a business where you have multiple people that need access to multiple files on your own servers.

But - the good news is that hope is not lost. You still can access the feature under the File menu, and select "Send A Copy" and get the menu that you're familiar with.

Interestingly enough, mail wasn't an option that showed up on my machine at first, which was frustrating. I went to System Preferences:Extensions:Share Menu and saw that there was a checkbox by mail. However, I noticed that the icon was for Outlook mail, not Mac mail. Opened the mail app and re-set the default email reader back to Mac Mail, and now I can email again from within Pages. Stupid that I can't have it go to Outlook
