Taking new iPad into use and not willing to sync pictures

Hi, taking new iPad into use and not willing to sync pictures from iCloud into it. Any way to prevent picture sync if copying iPhone data into iPad?

If you don’t wish to synchronise photos between devices using iCloud, you simply need to disable iCloud photos on your iPad, iPhone or both - as your needs dictate:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud > Photos > Sync this iPad | iPhone - set to OFF
