Why won't Notifications turn on my iPhone screen

Hello! Does anyone solve this issue? I have the same issue in iPhone 14 pro. Notification sounds works but do not light lockscreen. I have 17.5.1 iOS

I'm having the same problem. Notifications WITH sound but screen remains off. There is nothing wrong with my device and this problem just started since the last iPhone update.

hello i have iphone 14 pro max i have the same issues i turned off always on display i receive notifications but my screen wont turn on on every notifcation i tried everything i cant fix it any help?

I'm having the same problem, the touchscreen broke out of nowhere. It was replaced with an original 2nd hand screen and the proximity and light sensor were also replaced. This problem occurred after the screen replacement. It was sent to the repair center again and although different screens and sensors were tried, the problem did not improve. No fault was detected in the logic board. Press and hold in the notification center and wallpaper change also does not work. I think the problem is caused by iOS 17.1. There may be a bug in the notification center. I would appreciate if anyone who can find a solution shares it.

Notifications not being received when phone is locked. All settings have been checked.

Definitely looks like an iOS bug.

If you wear paired watch then the notification will come on watch. If you remove your watch then you will get notification by wake phone screen.

I had extensive calls with Apple support for 2 weeks now. They advised to delete/erase my iPhone through iTunes and re-install the iOS from there. I did and nothing changed. I tried also to set it up as new from iTunes but the issue persists.

Apple run diagnostics in my device and they didn't flag any hardware issue. In the last call I had, they gathered a lot of screenshots from notification settings and they told me that they had escalate the issue.

Yesterday the called me again to check if the issue has been fixed with 18.0.1 iOS but it has not.

When I asked to confirm if it's an iOS bug or a hardware failure they told that it's still under investigation and they will come back to me with a response as soon as they figure out if it has to do with iOS bug.

I also asked if they have similar cases in our country Apple Support line and they told me that very recently it happened to an iPhone 16 device (which of course it totally and brand new)!

I will update when I have their feedback.

You might not be getting notifications on your iPhone for a few reasons. Here are some of the most common causes:

• Do Not Disturb mode is turned on. Do Not Disturb mode silences all notifications, so ensure it's turned off. You can do this by swiping down from the top of your screen and tapping the crescent moon icon.

Have you enabled Scheduled Summary?

Whenever I get any sort of notifcation I hear the sound but the screen doesn't turn on.

A few things it isn't:

Keep in mind, get the notification SOUND no problem. The screen just doesn't turn on. But when I go and tilt the phone up, the notification is there.

I removed my screen guard and it worked , it’s back to normal ! Give it a try it worked in my case !

I have the same issue with my 14 Pro Max. I had a dead pixel on my OEM screen and the apple store people still tried to charge me to replace the display even though it was under the 1 year warranty and there was no physical damage. I ended up ordering an OEM display that was pulled from another iPhone 14 pro max and swapping it myself. As soon as I replaced the display, notifications stopped making it light up but everything else worked fine. The only thing that I did to make it start lighting up again was turn on "always on display" in settings, which I'm not a big fan of. Now at least when i have this on, it will brighten up to full brightness when i get a notification. This is the only thing i found that "fixes" it. If anyone has another solution please share.

Update: Apple support called me and asked if they issue had been resolved with iOS 18.1 beacuse engineers team told that the have a patch for it in 18.1.

of course the issue persisted. I was told to remove screen protector/tempered glass and wait a few hours to check if notifications would wake up screen. Nothing changed. I notified Apple again and they told me they will come back next week.

Have any of you resolved the issue by updating to iOS 18.1??

Hello all, 2 weeks ago I bought an iphone 14 pro which required update to 17.5.1 to be set-up. I transferred everything from my old XS (running iOS 16 and working absolutely normally in everything). From the very first time the notifications made sound when arriving but the lock screen didn’t light. Only if I have “always on display” (which I do not prefer) I can see notifications.

I tried almost every advice found on google search. i called also Apple Support which offered nothing. Told me to wait for new iOS. But as I read many of you had other iOS and I’m really curious if anyone of you had this resolved after updating his/her iOS??
