Is it possible to delete files or folders from a time machine backup?

For months, I backed up my notebook including 2 unimportant, very large folders. Now, to free up space on the external disk that I use for time machine backup, I'm wondering if I can delete those 2 folders from the backup files. Is it possible?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.5

No.

Open Settings: General : Time Machine > panel, and click Options… Click the + symbol to add the 2 very large folders to the items that Time Machine will exclude from future backups.
